Dear Mom,
Things are pretty slow today so I have some time to write a few v-mails. I don’t think I told you before but, I’ve had a German car for a couple of months and been doing quite a lot of running around with it. I got rid of it yesterday; the captain didn’t like it even a little bit because I’d deadline whenever I wasn’t using it myself. We took a jeep yesterday (borrowed it from one of the officers) and went out. We tangled with the MPs around 10:00 o’clock so had to takeoff. I guess they didn’t like us covering so much territory. Well, we got home “early for a change”. Anyhow, I’ve had a lot more fun here than I ever did in England. When they get things settled I’m going to have plenty of points for discharge. I only lack one point now and we’re supposed to get another battle star, possibly two of them, to go with the two we have. I don’t set much confidence in that system any how, they’ll keep you in the Army if they want you anyhow.
