Dear Mom and All,
I just finished a letter to Judy and figured I’d better drop you a line while I was at it. I found a good place to spend my evenings now. We have a small building for motor pool “M.P.” so the drivers and I fixed it up a little. I got a stove and table, “Thumpy” got a good battery radio; Coon brought in an alarm clock and electric fixtures, and he and I wired the place. It’s the only place in camp that is well lighted, well heated and quiet. We even have a telephone for communication between here and the Company orderly room. Pretty sharp for the ETO (European Theater of Operations), eh? I got in a couple of swell toolset today but neither of them came with a mechanic in them so I’m afraid I’ll have to keep doing it myself yet a while. A couple of the drivers are pretty good on minor repairs, at least they know a box wrench from an open end, so we get together on it and make out. How are all the kids? Has the snow receded anymore? You really had your share this winter. Gary Moore and Jimmy Durante are on now and pretty good tonight. A.F.N. (America Forces Network) comes in good here.
Love to all, Wayne

I got a box (from Jay) with pipes, pop corn, etc. Also one of tobacco. Thanks!
