Dear Mom,
I guess it’s about time I did a little writing. I haven’t received much mail this month and what I do get is pretty old, but it’s still enough so that I owe letters to nearly everyone I know.
I saw Red Bryant, the Warner boys, Chuck Henry and the rest of the boys yesterday. They had a party and I happened to get there at just the right time. We had quite a talk anyhow; I told them where Charlie and Bob Rumsey were. I always seem to get more information like that than they do.
I saw Joe’s old outfit Friday afternoon and found out where he is now. I haven’t seen or heard from him since he was put in the other detachment. I still haven’t found Wm Whelan but I haven’t had much time to try.
I hear that you’re having a heat wave over there. We haven’t had any thing like that here yet, and I doubt if we ever do.
Love to all, Wayne
