My Relative Tree

I have ancestors, therefore I am…

Dear Mom and All,
I have five or 6 of your unanswered letters, most of them came through last week. There wasn’t much use of my writing the last of May or the first of this month as they wouldn’t have gone through anyhow. I just finished a v-mail to Wanda and one to Bernice. I heard from Wm. (answer to a letter I wrote to him) but didn’t have a chance to look him up and there’s no use trying now for a while.

No I didn’t get my watch though I did go see the people. I guess I’ll have to go to special services office and see if they can’t get it fixed up somehow. I hate to admit that it’s completely lost if there’s any possible chance of recovering it.

Did you get the living room floor fixed up yet? I think it’s a good idea to cover it all for the time being. It wouldn’t be hard to lay matched wood over the other flooring later if it isn’t too hard to get.

Yes, I remember Mary Copley. I’d ought to, she was over there about half the time. The last time I saw her you could have wrapped a handkerchief around her and used her for a rifle cleaning rod.

Has Mr. Miller left yet? I’ll bet he will be missed. He was a rather odd fellow but I liked him. I think he paid more attention to his business than any other man they’ve had there for a long while.

Did Arthur get in the parachute troops? If he did there’ll be two of us from there that’ll have something in common. He’d ought to be able to make it alright.

The boys told me that I just missed La Verne a period if he doesn’t look for me any harder than I’ll look for him. I’m afraid any meeting will be accidental. God gave me relatives but he lets me pick my own friends. I was just one day behind Laverne Gleason too. I don’t know whether you remember him or not; he is a brother of Theresa Shumway and wife he stayed there in Whitneyville with someone, for a while.

I guess Peg and I are back on good terms again. I wrote a letter to her May 30 and mailed it yesterday, I’ve been carrying it all over with me and nearly forgot it.

Have you gotten over your case of hives yet? They sure did hang on. Maybe it was a mild case of seven year itch.

Hm, I’m finding out more about Betty‘s family from you than I ever did from her, maybe because I never asked her about them. Did Jay go to that W. H. S. Dance? I haven’t heard from Betty for a long while but I’m not worried about it at all.

So Mama Rose gave in and let the rest drive her car once in a while, eh? I didn’t expect her to let the others within 40 feet of it. That old Lincoln must be about ready for the scrapheap, any other car would have given out before this. I figure it must have about 130,000 miles on it.

Berwyn must’ve done a good job of losing your ink, maybe he drank it. George came in one night last month and drank a bottle of hand lotion, half a bottle of green ink, and a quarter of a bottle of lighter fluid before we could get him undressed and into bed. It didn’t seem to leave any I’ll effects tho’ I asked him the next day if he was peeing green.

I would like to know Charlie Dewey’s address and if he is in this theater. I might run into him, you never can tell.

I guess I better sign off for this time. I will write again when I can.
Love to all, Wayne
