Dear Mom,
I received your v.mail and the two boxes last night; thanks a lot! Those candy bars sure were good. I also got a big Easter card from Bernice and Mable.
I just got off K. P. The first one I’ve pulled since the 502nd got here. I was supposed to be on once before but a fellow owed me £10 and wanted to keep it for another month so he took the Sun K.P. for me. I didn’t work very hard, today, but I got one of my jumpsuits so dirty and greasy that I’ll never get it clean again.
I had one of the fellows take my watch to London last week to have it repaired. I’ll have to go after it myself or have someone that is going to pick it up for me. The balance staff was broken. It will cost me £2-10.
I got a letter from Grandma Smith day before yesterday, it was a more interesting letter than she usually writes. I still hear from Verne but haven’t had a letter from Carrie for a long while. I don’t think I ever got around to answering her last one.
Love to all, Wayne
