England
Dear Sis,
I just answered a letter I got from Jay, and wrote to Dot to thank her for the box of “edible garbage” I got from her. It took me about an hour to get ready to write, as I had to find a piece of plywood and make a writing board, so I thought I might as well use it all I can before someone else figures they need it more than I do.
I got a box from Ken yesterday. A fruit cake, half pound of peanuts, 1/2 lb American cheese, a can of deviled meat, and one of Vienna sausages, 3 candy bars, and 3 packs of gum. Not bad, eh? That makes three cakes I’ve gotten the past week.
I went on a run with Joe a week ago today and saw Mark Wheeler; he’s in the same outfit Joe’s in. The rest of the Charleston and Wellsboro boys are near enough so that I may be able to visit them when I get time. I’ve seen a lot of fellows I know already.
Say, what is Dick Reamons(?) address? I won’t write to Ruth, but I would write to Dick if I knew his address. If you don’t know it don’t bother to ask for it on my account.
I haven’t heard from Betty for about a month, I’m getting a little peeved about that and damned if I’ll put up without one sided deal. There may be a good reason for it, and I’m just a little too quick at finding fault but I’d better hear from her before long.
As ever,
Wayne.
