England,

Dear Sis,
I got your letter and one from Judy today. She had already gotten my first letter about the 5th, I can’t understand why you folks haven’t heard from me yet. Somethings fishy as hell. I just finished a letter to Peg. I’ve heard from her a couple of times since I’ve been here.
If Jerry says Fern told him I’d gone across, she sure as heck must have gotten my letter. I haven’t heard from her in so long that I thought maybe she hadn’t gotten it and was waiting for me to write. I’ve got to write again and get her on the ball. Will also have to drop a line to Lt. (to be) Casey.(?)
Peg says Alice is in at M.S.T.C (Mansfield State Teachers College) for her 3 mo. prep. Where is she staying, at the dorm? I’ve got to write her before long.
Your grades weren’t too bad. I don’t know as I could take that course and only get one grade below A for the semester. In fact, I’m almost sure I couldn’t.
I was sick as the deuce yesterday. I went out Saturday night and drank some of this English beer; not enough to even get feeling good, but it sure left its mark. I don’t believe I’ve been as sick since I’ve been in the Army; it even held over a while today.
Say, did the rest of the girls that stayed at 91 Main come back to school this year? You never mentioned any of them.
Who is Jay going with now, anyone steady or just anyone he happens to get hold of easily. I noticed you mentioned the Wharton girl a couple of times. Maybe I’d better write to him and find out.
Love,
Wayne.
