Dear Mom,
We are allowed to tell where we are though you no doubt already suspected it. The country is nice but everything is a much smaller scale than it is there. Most of us had a little trouble getting used to the money but it’s straightened itself out in time.
Joe came over on the train yesterday afternoon and we went to town last night. We had quite a visit and I’m going over to see him as soon as I get some time off. He hasn’t changed a bit as far as I can see. I had called him Friday night and let him know how to find me.
I got a letter from Mrs. Hemker and one from Mrs. Wilcox the other day so I got plenty of the local news. I haven’t heard from Betty lately, she probably hasn’t gotten my letters yet and doesn’t know I left the states. I made out a card like yours for her but maybe she didn’t get it. I just sent $40 to you to get the kids something -Xmas. I’ll write again soon.
Love to all,

Wayne
