Dear Sis,
I got your letter and one from Mom this noon. I wrote to Mom in a few days ago so I don’t think I will tonight. I got a letter from Joe and one from Anita Harrington (in Seattle) and I have to answer the latter yet.
Joe sent me a snapshot of himself. Wow, does he look long-legged in a uniform. By the way, I want five or six reprint of those pictures you took of me, I’ve got to send some out if they are fairly good.
I figured you had never gotten a telegram before as it was about the easiest way to send the money safely, anyhow I kinda liked the idea. I could’ve sent a message to, but I couldn’t think of anything worth saying. It only cost $3.68 or something like that and to send $160. A lot more than a money order but a lot quicker and safer if possible.
Sending Jerry a earth worm was plenty sharp, I’ll bet you hear plenty about that before long. I haven’t heard from him for about three weeks now.
Mom said in her letter to ask you how you liked your new cousin, but I found your answer a few minutes later. They are pretty evenly matched, dumb and ugly, even though I suppose we shouldn’t say such things.
I get some pretty long and interesting letters from Betty B. She seems to be pretty nice though deep thinker and rather moody at times. I guess she’s homesick some of the way her letters read.
My raise in pay is only 16 bucks but I think that’s enough to pay my insurance and laundry, cigs and toilet articles, etc. and leave me the even hundred. I reckon I should be able to send 65-70% of that to you and still have plenty left for what running around I do.
Tell Miss Allen that I said that poker isn’t just luck, there’s a lot of science to it that cost money to learn. So far I’m a little ahead in spite of what I lost payday.
Well, I’ve got to catch up a couple of days in my diary besides that other letter so I’ll have to close.
Love,
Wayne .
