Dear Dad,
I’m in the same boat as you are when it comes to writing. When I write to mom, I haven’t anything left to write to you.
This riggers course has been a cinch so far. There isn’t much work to it, but you have to keep on the ball and pay attention to what they tell you.
I’m sorry that I couldn’t send all of you something for Christmas, but I guess everyone understands the situation I’m in right away right now. The 40 bucks a month we get now isn’t much more than we need. I should get a pretty good roll when we get paid in full, if we ever do.
I stand a good chance to get anything from a Corporal Tech to Staff Sergeant (got a corporal tech for sure), when I am assigned to an outfit. A lot of it depends on the grades you get in the school and I think I’m doing ok, though I don’t know my average for my daily work.
Damn! There’s some loud mouths having an argument in here and I can’t concentrate.
Sunday afternoon – I couldn’t finish this last night and I got started on a crossword puzzle this morning, but I will try to write a little more now.
The weather has been wonderful here the past couple of weeks. You can sit around in your underwear and be comfortable enough.
We had intended to drop equipment and drop test a few chutes yesterday but they only had 10 planes and had to use all of them for jumping men, so we were out of luck. We may be able to get a plane sometime this next week.
I reckon I’ll have to go to town tomorrow night. Bob said he’d wire the money he borrowed as soon as he could get to the bank, and I’ll have to go to town to get it. Charlie is coming over to go in with me.
Well, I guess this is all for now.
Your loving son,
Wayne.
