Dear Mom,
Well here we are at Ft Meade about 120 miles from the Gap. I drove all the way but intend to have Roy drive tomorrow.
We went through Harrisburg, took route 11 through York to Baltimore, there we took Rt 1 but stopped here. We will probably go through Washington tomorrow.
It is cold here and there is 3 or 4 inches of snow. The streets in Baltimore were icy. There was only one accident that I know of today and nobody was hurt in that. We sleep in the barracks tonight, they say the reason is that a couple of boys from the 84th froze to death last night in the open.
