Character Observation

By Velma M. Rose Smith, 1984

This is a beautiful June morning, sun is shining, cool breeze, birds singing, all is right, in my world. Tina arrived home from a two day trip to Niagara Falls, by bus, with the Middle School Band. She called me from her motel yesterday morning, and that call led me to write the following:

Tina hates to lose anything, it upsets her badly. She had put her new bra under her pillow, and the 3 girls in her room had taken it, and hid it. I began thinking, what would one of my children have done under the circumstances. She told the chaperon and she made the girls return it, letting the girls know it bothered Tina – and they enjoyed it.

Wanda – when she found the bra missing and realized that the girls had taken it, would have ignored it, got out another bra, and went to breakfast. No fun for the girls, they would return it.

Eileen – waited until the girls went to breakfast, hid their brushes, tied knots in their clothes, dumped a bottle of perfume on their favorite blouse, etc.

Jeannette – she would have been up, and had her bra and clothes on, before the girls got up.

Bernadene – slept until it was late, and they had put it back, so they could all leave for the bus.

Dianne – “It’s a good joke girls, I don’t need it, but hand it over”. Right now, or

Jay – had been up and already hid the other guys stuff.

Berwyn – They couldn’t find his, all locked in his suit case and hid the key.
